When prospective residents and guests come to Oakmont of Pacific Beach for the first time, it is often the aesthetic and attention to detail that draw immediate praise. This is largely in part because all of our communities are designed internally with our resident’s every need in mind, but by far and away the most common testimonials we receive are about our people.

At Oakmont of Pacific Beach, we have hand-selected every member of our staff based on being a leader in their field and a deep desire to please our residents. It is for this reason our residents look forward to every activity, excursion, and meal enjoyed at Oakmont of Pacific Beach.

Meet Joan Rink-Carroll, our Executive Director at Oakmont of Pacific Beach.

Joan comes to Oakmont of Pacific Beach with more than 30 years of experience in academic and administrative health care, including 12 years in Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities.  Early in her career, Joan worked in a geriatric clinic and discovered her love for the aging population.

Joan’s compassion for seniors aligns with Oakmont’s commitment to excellence in care and service, which is why she chose to work as Executive Director at one of Oakmont’s newest beachside communities, Oakmont of Pacific Beach.

Joan admits that her favorite part of her day is spending quality time with her residents.  Joan and her husband of 6 years chose to live near the beach due to their active lifestyle. She enjoys swimming, biking and running; having more than 70 half marathons under her belt, she looks forward to keeping her love for running alive.
